The hyper-specialized economy, brought about through the globalist outsourcing of labor and the commoditization of financial assets, has fundamentally changed the relationship of the people to the urban environment. Haunting cyclical scenes of empty streets, unoccupied buildings, and the inevitable rush of strangers to clog both are a staple in every metropolis in the nation. These conditions break the psychic link between the city and nostalgia: lacking the feeling of a longing for home.
